The project was carried out in the frame of the
                   Romanian National RD&I Programme              
              "Research of Excellence" CEEX.                  

Abstract

The project aimed to develop a system of software modules, integrated into a unique platform, dedicated to seismic risk assessment at territorial scale.

As a starting point, recent studies on seismic risk in Romania, carried out by members of the team in the frame of several Romanian and European research projects, were used.

The software implementation used procedures which are quite similar to the USA HAZUS methodology, unanimously considered as a landmark in the concerned field. The implementation integrates the use of geographical information systems (GIS) by means of specialized modules.

Maps of the calculated seismic risk parameters are obtained, along with maps of other significant parameters of building stock and seismic hazard. Detailed reports are generated for the seismic risk characteristics of analyzed zones.
